ITForum continues to discuss Prof van der Merwe's paper. I think the most important idea from it is that we must actively engage students in their learning. They cannot be passive learners. The more meaningful and real world application to the learning, as well as the incorporation of technology, the more motivated and engaged students will be. This type of learning includes all learning styles, therfore, engaging all students. As adults we have to let go of being the "sage on the stage" and let students learn while we are the "guides on the sides." Students will get more out of their learning than just memorizing info and regurgitating it on a test.
